Carlslund School is a new secondary school that opened in the autumn term of 2024 in the Carlslund area.

The municipality's adapted primary school for grades 7–9 is an integrated part of the school. Carlslund School is one of Umeå Municipality's training schools, which means that during the school year, it receives teacher students for their practical training, VFU. We are now looking for a substitute special educator!

Your responsibilities

In the role of special educator, you will contribute special educational expertise as support in daily pedagogical work and in the overall planning of student health work. You will work preventively and health-promoting in close collaboration with the principal and other staff, focusing on creating accessible learning environments and increasing students' goal achievement.

You will also:

• Identify and analyze obstacles and difficulties in various teaching and learning environments and participate in preventive work, follow up, evaluate, and support the development of the organization.
• Guide and act as a qualified conversation partner and advisor in pedagogical matters for the school's educators, guardians, and other stakeholders.
• Be involved in the work with pedagogical investigations and analyses of the school's environment's obstacles and opportunities.
• Guide in the work of establishing, implementing, and following up on action programs.

About you

We are looking for someone who is well acquainted with the school's governing documents and has the ability to individualize and vary your assignment based on students' needs. Furthermore, you have the ability to create good relationships with students and colleagues and a willingness to work in a learning organization. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Qualified special educator
• Experience working as a special educator in grades 7-9
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing
• Valid extract from the criminal record, due to the suitability control law

Meritorious

• Authorization to teach English for grades 7-9
• Experience with flex teams
